In the recent years, Islamic countries have been receptive of a great wave of advertisements about Christianity in which midst, Iran has observed the greatest expanse of those waves.
In a recent research it has been found that TV advertisements, urban advertisements, public advertisements, advertisements in house churches, internet, and deceivers are 6 ways of promoting Christianity in Iran.
Internet
Activities of the promoters of Christianity on the internet involve a vast number of websites and blogs. The forums on those websites have turned into an attractive place for Iranians where they see the advertisements and after a while they are invited to house gatherings. Furthermore, some of the other uses of internet for the Christian promoting groups have been wearing an innocence façade, disturbing the public opinion and etc. through publishing false information.
Urban Advertisements
A) Performing advertisements on the youth to attract them: an important point to note is that in attracting the youth, there are maneuvers made on the relationship between boys and girls and in light of that, Christianity is introduced as a permissive religion in which boys and girls can have a relationship with no limitations.
B) Social groups: Social groups that play the most important role in the promoting of Christianity include: college students, drug addicts, dissidents of the regime, runaway girls, street kids, Baha’is, atheists, handicaps, and patients with chronic diseases.
Advertisements in House Churches
House churches are houses that Christian pastors or newly attracted renegades are in charge of their ownership or rent. These places are rented with a great amount of financial support from church organizations for the purpose of attracting non-Christians. These houses mostly receive the attention of newly attracted youth. Also, some of the books, CDs, notes and blogs are provided, distributed and updated from these places.
It has been said that the highest number of house churches belong to the cities of Tehran, Karaj, and Rasht.
TV Advertisements
Satellite channels which work together in various ways, have been directly doing a great amount of advertisement for Christianity.
The pivot points of these channels include:
A) Advertisements for Israel-related Christianity: One of the hosts of “Nejat TV” says “Israel is a sacred land so anyone who says “Death to Israel,” that death goes back to him/herself.
B) Doing special advertisements aimed at the drug addicts and the disabled, using fake and unidentifiable pictures and publishing manipulative songs and images in a constant manner.
C) Portraying Christianity as a fast-spreading religion which has been able to attract all ethnic groups to itself.
These types of public deceiving activities are done using images from the inside of Iran.
Deceivers
Also, in the investigations, it has been indicated that some of the promoting groups possess a great variety of female deceivers and use them for attracting male targets. People in these groups by giving speeches and running weblogs and chat rooms attempt to attract the whimsical youth.
